In late 2013 I was surprised to find out that Applewood Village Dentistry in Mississauga had been chosen as best dental clinic in Mississauga. As if winning this prestigious title was not enough, I was pleasantly astonished to realize that the award of best dental clinic did not come by chance or luck; a company that rated businesses all over Canada, had nominated our office based on input from Mississauga residents who were patients or had experienced dentistry at our office, and realized that we deserved appreciation.
The story began in the spring of 2013, as I was going through the Junk folder in my office email account. One such email in my Junk folder was from a company called Top Choice Canada, stating that I had been nominated for best dentist of Mississauga, and that I needed to click this link to authenticate that Applewood Village Dentistry was legitimate and authentic, and that we existed!
After marking the email as not junk, I clicked apprehensively on the link to realize that the Top Choice Awards website not only existed, but that it had many categories that people could vote for, and best dental office Mississauga was just one category among the many, and that Applewood Village Dentistry was already ahead of the others by more than twice the votes!
Not only did it come as a complete surprise, it was a pleasant one. After all we were celebrating our fifth year in Mississauga as a full service dental office here in Applewood Village Plaza. We served Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, Brampton and patients who travelled from as far as Owen Sound and Northern Ontario for modern pain free dentistry in a warm and caring environment.
By the end of August, it was clear that we were well on our way to be named best dentist of Mississauga, and patients were starting to congratulate us on our achievement. We were getting phone calls every day. Dental material suppliers and dental lab owners were calling us too. Suddenly, we were in the limelight. We were on everybody’s lips. Staff members were wearing broad smiles, morale was high, everyone had a spring in their step and a song on their lips.
Best dental clinic in Mississauga! My God! We had achieved a landmark. A milestone had been reached. People and patients had rewarded us with their love and appreciation. We had been chosen. Our work and our dedication had been rewarded. What could we do besides celebrating? I decided the next day that we were not going to slow down. We were not going to stop doing what we were obviously doing right. We would continue to work hard every day. We will keep doing what is right. High quality dentistry using high end technology in a friendly and warm office, for which we have been commended so many times by everyone. As patients ourselves, we ask of the very best of what we get. As providers of dental care in Mississauga, we take our work seriously. Dentistry need not be painful or expensive.
